Caitlin Clark’s impact on women’s basketball has been nothing short of transformative. Following Clark’s stellar rookie season with the Indiana Fever and dominance on the court, her cards best cards have seen record-breaking sports card sales, cementing her as the face of the modern WNBA collecting market.

With the recent release of her highly anticipated Panini Prizm rookie cards, collectors are already speculating on the value of what will undoubtedly be one of the most significant WNBA cards ever printed—the Caitlin Clark Black Prizm 1/1.

Historical Sales and Market Context

To accurately assess Clark’s Black Prizm 1/1 value it’s essential to look at recent record-breaking sales of her other rare rookie cards:

Caitlin Clark’s two highest-selling cards of all time (as of February 14, 2025)
Caitlin Clark’s two highest-selling cards of all time (as of February 14, 2025)
  • 2024 Panini Select WNBA Gold Vinyl Autograph 1/1 – $234,850 (Dec. 2024)

  • 2024 Panini Select WNBA Black Finite Autograph 1/1 (PSA 9/Auto 10) – $97,600 (Dec. 2024)

Both of these sales represent a card from a less iconic product than Prizm, yet they have already pushed the boundaries of what has historically been possible for women’s basketball cards.

This suggests that Clark’s Black Prizm 1/1—arguably the most important WNBA card to date—could command a final price well beyond these figures.

Why the Black Prizm 1/1 is Different

Prizm is the undisputed flagship brand in modern basketball card collecting. The set has defined the rookie card market for over a decade, and the Black Prizm 1/1 parallel is its most prestigious non-autograph chase card.

For reference, in the men’s market:

  • A 2018 Trae Young Panini Prizm Black Prizm 1/1 sold for $444,000 in 2021.

  • A 2023 Victor Wembanyama Prizm Black Shimmer 1/1 (a less prestigious parallel) fetched $516,000 in early 2024.

Given that Clark’s Select Gold Vinyl Autograph already sold for nearly a quarter-million dollars, her Black Prizm 1/1 has a strong case to surpass the $400,000 mark, and potentially reach as high as $600,000, depending on demand at auction.

Final Valuation: $550,000

Considering Clark’s past sales, the importance of Prizm, and the record-breaking prices of comparable men’s cards, it’s reasonable to project that her Black Prizm 1/1 will sell above $500,000. With there being little question this is Clark’s best rookie in existence, the biggest collectors in the hobby will be vying for this card.

This would shatter every existing WNBA card record as well as any women’s card record, further solidifying Caitlin Clark’s impact on both the sport and the collecting industry.

Collectors will be eagerly watching to see if this once-in-a-lifetime card makes history—just like Clark herself.
